The Mills Lawn School (MLS) Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an all-volunteer nonprofit 501c3 organization that strives to support students, families, and teachers. The PTO works to ensure that all Mills Lawn Students have access to full participation in Mills Lawn school, class, and grade-wide activities.
This mission is carried out through fundraising and designing events that support Mills Lawn teachers, classes, kids, and our community.
Last year, through our Street Fair fundraisers and the gifts of our Bulldog Backers, PTO funded close to $15,000 of educational materials, experiences, and events.
The money we raise goes right to where it makes a difference: our kids' educational experiences. Please find a way to join us!
WHAT WE FUND:
Yearly back-to-school stipend for teacher classroom needs
Headphones for students to use for state testing
School supplies for students in need
Supplies and masks for the clinic during the pandemic
Books for PBL and intervention specialist use
Black History Month education and programs
Several family events including: Back to School Potluck, Grandfriends Day, Bulldog Jog, Winterfest, Talent Show, Bulldog Boogie
Contributes toward the cost of several field trips including the 6th grade field trip to Young's and the kindergarten field trip to Peifer Orchard
Teacher Appreciation Week festivities
Supplementary phonics instruction materials
Contributed to costs of PBL projects
PTO is headed by an elected group of parent volunteers. These volunteers serve as a governing board who organizes and runs all of our annual activities. Our PTO always has a need for leadership, and we welcome your involvement. Please reach out to the chair of an opportunity you're interested in helping with or contact our president directly with overall questions about how to get involved.
