We have several community-wide events that are fast becoming well-loved local traditions. The Bulldog Jog in November, the Gingerbread Festival the second Saturday in December as part of the Chamber's Holiday in the Springs event, the New Euchre Tournament February 9th, and the Math & Science Night in March are all events that draw in not only our school community, but also a much wider range of local families and visitors.


If you, or your company would like to make an impact in support of our school, please contact us to find the perfect fit.  We have opportunities for funding through cash, material or prize donations at our food & competitive events and volunteering or even activity participation (such as designing or hosting a booth for math/science night).



We understand that not every school supporter can find the time to volunteer. For some, supporting with their wallets makes the most sense time-wise and financially, and these supporters make a huge impact on what we are able to offer our school. Most of our $13,000 annual budget is from individual and corporate charitable donations.

Your contribution is tax deductible as we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Each donation makes a big impact on our small budget.

What we fund:

  • 10 Annual Community & student oriented events

  • $800 of back to school supplies for families in need

  • $300/ classroom for trips to various locations such as Learning Tree Farm, Glen Helen Raptor Center, Springfield Museum of Art & Caesar Creek State Park

  • $245 on band and orchestra materials

  • $75 per teacher for back to school teaching aids

  • $300 to the 5th grade garden PBL project

  • $200 to the Veteran’s Day PBL Project Luncheon

  • $150 to Boys/Girls Night

  • $200 to the Bike & Walk to School Day events

  • $650 in scholarships for the Camp Kern 5th & 6th grade trip

Volunteer for our Street Fair Parking Fundraiser

MLS Elementary back lawn, 2nd Saturday in October & June

Each fall and spring the PTO teams-up with the Scouts & YSHS Boosters to park cars on the MLS lawn during the Yellow Springs Street Fair.  This is a major fundraiser for these organizations. Volunteers are needed in two-hours shifts to direct cars, collect parking fees and to clean up.

Re-enroll your Kroger Community Rewards Program Annually 

Ongoing In-store Loyalty Program = free funds for the school!


Select “Mills Lawn Elementary PTO” or 73288. Enrollment needs to be renewed annually.


We are a participant of the Kroger Community Rewards program. If you select “Mills Lawn Elementary PTO” or "73288" as the recipient of your charitable Kroger donation through your Kroger Loyalty card online (see above) we will receive a quarterly cash donation based on a percentage of your purchases. This does not affect your fuel points, and reregistration is required yearly. 

1) Go to www.krogercommunityrewards.com

2) Select "Sign-in" and enter your info, or if you are a new customer, select "Create an Account"

  • To sign up for a new account, enter your email address, create a password and agree to terms

  • You will get an email asking you to click to confirm your new account, click on the link provided.

  • Click on "My Account" and use your email and new password to log in

3) Click on "Edit Kroger Community Rewards"

4) Input Kroger Plus Card Number or Alternative ID

5) Update and confirm your information

  • Organization Number: 73288

6) Kroger will send a reminder annually to re-enroll with the organization of your choice.

Shop or Volunteer at the Biannual Book Fair Fundraisers

MLS Library, November 4th-8th & March TBD 

Come on in and support Mills Lawn and a lifelong love of books. There are titles available for all ages, and a portion of all sales benefit Mills Lawn and our teachers. Shop late on Family Night, Tuesday the 7th  when the sale will be open until 8:00 PM.  Can't make it in? Shop online with free shipping!

Collect Boxtops & Pulltabs For School Rewards

Ongoing Drop off in the box inside the front entrance of Mills Lawn

Mills Lawn participates in General Mills Box Tops programs.  This has been a successful way for us to secure sports and educational materials for our teachers.  Throughout the year, donations can be placed in the receptacles below the PTO bulletin board near the front office and the student council will collect and submit them for the

Thirsty Third Thursday @ the Yellow Springs Brewery

Yellow Springs Brewery, 7-9 pm 

On select third Thursdays (see below) the Yellow Springs Brewery rewards our supporters by graciously contributing $1 from the sale of each beer or growler purchased to the Mills Lawn PTO.  Let's toast to that!

Donate Electronics & Cartridges for Recycling

Ongoing Drop off in the box inside the front entrance of Mills Lawn

Donate your used ink cartridges, old cell phones, digital and video cameras, iPods and laptops in this ongoing drive. The donations will be recycled for money for the school.  Drop off box is located at the PTO station across from the front office.
