ABOUT MILLS LAWN PTO
The Mills Lawn School (MLS) Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an all-volunteer nonprofit 501c3 organization that strives to support students, families, and teachers, and to ensure that all Mills Lawn Students have access to full participation in Mills Lawn school, class, and grade-wide activities.
This mission is carried out through fundraising, and designing events that support Mills Lawn teachers, classes, kids and our community.
Last year, through our Street Fair and Bulldog Jog fundraisers and the gifts of our Bulldog Booster donors, PTO funded close to $10,000 of educational materials and experiences including $300 per classroom for field trips to art, history and science venues such as COSI, Carillon Park, Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Springfield Museum of Art, and theatrical productions at the Kuss Auditorium in Springfield.
The money we raise goes right to where it makes a difference; our kids' educational experience. Please find a way to join us!
What we fund:
$75 per classroom for back to school teaching aids
$800 of school supplies for families in need
$300 for a PBL coding robot
Fabric for 2nd grade PBL pillow project for Children’s Hospital
Field trips to Learning Tree Farm, Glen Helen Raptor Center, Springfield Museum of Art & Caesar Creek State Park
$475 for a new set of recorders for the music room
$300/ classroom for field trips and PBL project expenses
$245 on band and orchestra materials
$200 to the Veteran’s Day PBL Project Luncheon
$150 to Boys/Girls Night
$200 to Bike & Walk to School Day events
$650 in 5th & 6th grade scholarships for Camp Kern

PTO is headed by an elected group of parent volunteers who serve as a governing board who organizes and runs all of our annual activities. Our PTO always has a need for leadership and we welcome your involvement. Second Monday of the month in the Mills Lawn Conference Room at 6:00 PM
The board meets during the school year to stay updated on the various event chairs' progress and group fundraising updates. All parents are welcome.
The meetings are in the Mills Lawn Conference Room and are casual. Feel free to bring a drink or snack.
